Yes, the sides of the hands and feet can also be treated. However, this is more labour-intensive and may compromise the results achieved so far on the palms and soles if carried out incorrectly. Simply raising the water level is not suitable (see Why is the correct water level in the tubs important?).
Recommended procedure for a two-stage treatment:
Phase 1:
- Low water level, so that only the palms of the hands/soles of the feet are submerged
- Slightly shorten the treatment duration (e.g. 10 minutes instead of 15)
- Aim: to ensure that the main areas continue to be treated effectively
Phase 2:
- Increase the water level so that the sides are also wet
- Treat for approx. 10 minutes again
- If necessary, slightly increase the current strength, as more skin is in the water
Important:
- Electrode cables should always point towards the fingers or toes, i.e. away from the body.
- This method requires some practice and experience to achieve a sufficient and even effect on all areas of the skin.
