Why is the set current sometimes not reached?

The set current level is sometimes not reached because the device’s safety features limit voltage and current, and increased skin resistance – for example, due to dry skin – reduces the flow of current; this can be compensated for by preparing the skin or by carrying out longer or more frequent treatments.

For safety reasons, the Saalio device is set to limit both the current and the voltage (to a maximum of 30 mA and 58 V respectively). If you set a higher current and your skin has increased resistance, the device’s maximum voltage is sometimes insufficient to reach the desired current. In this case, the current bar will not be fully displayed. The displayed level shows you how much of the target current is actually flowing.

It often happens that the current value is not quite reached until later in the course of treatment. This is because the skin sweats less after the first few therapy sessions. This increases the skin’s natural resistance, and the current flow is slightly restricted.
