Why is the set current sometimes not reached?

For safety reasons, the Saalio device is set to limit both the current and the voltage (to a maximum of 30 mA and 58 V respectively). If you set a higher current and your skin has increased resistance, the device’s maximum voltage is sometimes insufficient to reach the desired current. In this case, the current bar will not be fully displayed. The displayed level shows you how much of the target current is actually flowing.

It often happens that the current value is not quite reached until later in the course of treatment. This is because the skin sweats less after the first few therapy sessions. This increases the skin’s natural resistance, and the current flow is slightly restricted.

If the set current is not reached, there are several options:

• Reduce skin resistance so that a higher current can flow. (see section “Why does the therapy not start when the circuit is closed?”)
• Extend the treatment duration to compensate for the lower current.
• Carry out treatments more frequently to compensate for the lower current.
