How long and how often should treatment be carried out?

An iontophoresis session should last at least 15 minutes and, initially, be carried out daily or at least every two days until sweating is significantly reduced. Thereafter, the intervals are gradually increased. During the maintenance phase, one treatment per week is often sufficient, or 2–3 treatments if necessary.

How long does a treatment session last?

A treatment session should generally last at least 15 minutes. Shorter treatment sessions are only advisable if severe side effects occur or if you are initially trying out the treatment on a new area of the body with caution.

How often should treatment be carried out?

1 Initial phase
In the early stages, the aim is to reduce sweating as quickly as possible. Therefore, treatment should take place at least every 2 days. If you tolerate the therapy well and no side effects occur, you can also treat the affected area daily.

2 Transition to the maintenance phase
As soon as sweating has significantly reduced and residual moisture is acceptable, you can gradually increase the intervals between treatments. Gradually increase the number of treatment-free days as long as the effect does not noticeably diminish.

3 Maintenance phase
In many cases, one treatment per week is sufficient to maintain the effect. However, in cases of severe sweating, 2 to 3 treatments per week may be necessary on a long-term basis. In addition, seasonal fluctuations or temporary periods of increased stress may require continuous adjustment of the intervals between treatments.

The maintenance phase is about maintaining the sweat-free state with as few sessions as possible. This is best achieved by ensuring that each individual therapy session is carried out as effectively as possible. You should therefore always ensure that the current is set at an appropriate level, that the treatment lasts long enough, and that the water level is correct.
