A burning sensation in specific areas of the skin

If you experience severe burning on small areas of skin during treatment, you should stop the treatment immediately and cover the affected areas with Vaseline or a waterproof plaster, as this indicates damage to the skin barrier.

If a sharp burning or stinging sensation occurs in a small, localised area of skin during a treatment, this often indicates a breach of the skin barrier. High-density current can penetrate through this damaged skin. Typical causes include:

  • Small hairline cracks in the skin
  • Injuries to the nail bed

Action:

  • Stop the treatment immediately.
  • Cover the affected areas with Vaseline.
  • For larger affected areas, a waterproof plaster may also be used.
