Are side effects unavoidable?

When used correctly, tap water iontophoresis is safe and has few side effects. These are usually due to improper use or pre-existing skin damage.

Side effects are not always, but very often, preventable. Tap water iontophoresis is a proven therapy that is generally very well tolerated. When used correctly, unwanted effects occur only rarely.

Side effects may sometimes occur if the skin is particularly sensitive, if a skin condition or injury already exists, or if the user experiences a pronounced sensation of electric current. However, side effects are much more commonly caused by improper use of the device or overly intense treatment.

If you use the Saalio® device correctly, most side effects can be avoided.

The Saalio HelpDesk does not replace the user manual for the device or the textile electrodes. It only answers frequently asked questions about their use. Therefore, please read the user manuals carefully to ensure you are fully aware of all safety instructions, risks, and possible side effects.
